I welcome you to my workshop in Uzerche, 30 minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde, for the repair, tuning and sale of chromatic and diatonic accordions. Whether your instrument is new or old, I handle every type of work, from reed replacement to full restoration, and I offer a selection of new and second-hand accordions, all serviced and ready to play.

From Brive, count a good half-hour on the A20 towards Limoges, Uzerche exit. It's the same drive from Malemort, Ussac, Donzenac or Allassac. The workshop is in the old town of Uzerche, at the Hôtel du Sénéchal, a 17th-century building I share with other craftspeople. I work by appointment, and I like it that way: we take the time to open the instrument together, listen to it, talk it over.

What comes in most often from Brive

Brive is the biggest town in Corrèze, so naturally a lot of instruments come from there. A tuning that hasn't been done in years. A clacking key, a note that won't stop, air leaking out, and that's a repair. Sometimes grandad's accordion, twenty years in its case, that someone would love to hear again. I work on chromatics and diatonics, every make, every era.

Then there are those looking for an instrument. The workshop sells second-hand accordions that I've fully overhauled, ready to come and try on site. I also take instruments in part-exchange and on consignment.

Before making the trip

The simplest thing is to start with the quote form: you describe the accordion and the problem, with photos if you can, and I get back to you with a first opinion and an estimate. Nothing binding, but it saves you a wasted trip. For transport, keep the instrument in its case, bellows closed, straps fastened, and never in a car boot in full sun.
