After a path that led me through journalism and software development, I rediscovered my passion for the accordion, the instrument I had learned to play as a child.

Gripped by an obsession with how it works, I spent hours dismantling, measuring, questioning the choice of materials, repairing and reassembling old high-end Italian-made accordions that I dreamed of playing. It was through this solitary trial and error, on my own instruments, that I began my apprenticeship.

I then wanted to learn the right techniques and best practices, to discover methods and processes. I travelled to Castelfidardo, in Italy, to train at the Victoria company, in the birthplace of accordion manufacturing worldwide.

I went to meet experienced instrument makers, specialists in each stage of manufacturing, and I was able to deepen my knowledge of tuning, repair and restoration techniques, and to ask all the questions that had remained unanswered during my self-taught years.

In 2024, after building up what I felt was enough knowledge and experience, I decided to open my own accordion tuning and repair workshop in order to offer my services.

I settled in the old town of Uzerche, within the Hôtel du Sénéchal, a 17th-century building occupied by the La Calade association, of which I am a member. I share this place with 13 other members (craft luthiers, artists, an archaeologist). Alongside our professional activities, we do our best to bring the place to life with activities, gatherings, concerts, events and residencies.

I like to approach each accordion with curiosity and without any preconceived ideas. Before doing any work, I take the time to examine the instrument and to talk with you: how you play it, which repertoire, what bothers you, what you expect. This first conversation makes it possible to better understand your needs, to advise you on a repair approach or a tuning, always seeking durability and respecting the way the instrument was made, all for a reasonable cost.

I work alone in the workshop, and I carry out each stage of a service with care. I favour traditional materials and methods in order to respect the original manufacturing. When a choice will affect the instrument in the long term, I present it to you before going ahead.

That said, I am not entirely on my own. I enjoy being in regular contact with many instrument makers and repairers, both in France and internationally. We are constantly discussing our practices, questioning our processes, improving our tools, and we are able to help and advise one another when an instrument gives us a hard time. Shared experience!
