Preventive maintenance
Regular servicing to keep your accordion in good condition.
What I check
- General condition of the mechanics (keys, pallets, registers)
- Airtightness of the bellows and reed blocks
- Condition of the valve leathers and ventils
- Overall compression
- Condition of the reeds and the waxing
- Straps and shoulder straps
Depending on what I find, I make the necessary adjustments or offer you a quote if a more significant intervention is needed.
How often
It depends on your use:
- You play every day or in a group: a service once a year
- You play regularly: every two years
- You play occasionally: every three years
If your accordion has never been serviced, now is a good time to start. Even an instrument that seems to work can have hidden problems (slight leaks, valve leathers coming unstuck, reeds out of tune).
